My indestructible 2/2 blocked a 5/5 — does 5 damage kill it?
Answer
No. Both creatures remain on the battlefield: the indestructible 2/2 has 5 damage marked, and the 5/5 has 2 marked.
Why
The creatures deal their full combat damage to each other, so the blocker has damage beyond its toughness.
Indestructible keeps lethal damage from destroying the 2/2. It does not remove the damage, so the engine leaves all 5 marked on it.
